Walnuts: Germany cuts imports from Chile by 50%

... the country only shipped as little as 3,000 metric tonnes of walnuts with and without shells overseas, which is a decline of 50% over October 2018. As soon as the new US crop arrived, buyers in Europe mainly purchased here, which halved monthly shipments from Chile from 3,300 to 1,630 metric tonnes. Chile has shipped a total of 96,844 metric tonnes this season so far, which is 16% rise pver last year.
