Dried figs: increase in exports

AYDIN. Within four months, Turkey exported dried figs with an export value of USD 137.5 million. Market players are optimistic and expect a significant increase in exports compared to the previous season.

Ongoing upward trend

Last week Turkey exported 1,234 metric tonnes of dried figs and fig products, with average prices of USD 3,592 per metric tonne for whole figs. A total of 38,655 metric tonnes have already been exported since the beginning of the season, which is a significant increase compared to last year with 33,124 metric tonnes. According to market players, this upward trend is likely to continue and lcould ead to a total export volume of more than 65,000 metric tonnes this season.
