At present, the market is rather sluggish due to the sharp drop in demand from China. For fear of spreading the coronavirus, trade there has come to an almost complete standstill. In addition, market players expect a high cumin production, which will further depress prices. Within one month there were price decreases of about 15%. Grade A cumin is currently trading at USD 2,040 per metric tonne, which is USD 70 per metric tonne below last week's price.
