Soybeans: Brazil's crop continues to fall behind

CHICAGO. US soybeans tended to be slightly firmer in Chicago. US soybean stocks could be estimated down in the WASDE report on Tuesday evening. Despite delays related to the coronavirus, China continues to meet its targets for Phase 1 commercial transactions. Brazil's soybean harvest is delayed due to rainfall, but the crop forecasts are increasingly higher.

Soybean prices in Chicago at noon were up 3 cents compared to last Friday at just under USD 8.84 per bushel. In the US, trade expectations remained slightly bullish in light of the development of US soybean stocks in the WASDE report on Tuesday evening, according to which US final stocks could fall from 475 to 443 million bushels. In contrast, world soybean stocks are expected to increase slightly from 96.7 million metric tonnes in January to 97.3 million metric tonnes.
