Pumpkin seeds: further delays in production

PEKING. The pumpkin seed factories remain closed in China due to the coronavirus. Problem is that factories need to be inspected and approved by the local health authorities before being allowed to open again. Reports state that no companies have obtained permission to resume operations as yet.

Further delays

As traders in China report, not one pumpkin seed factory has obtained permission to open again so far. Although producers hope that the situation will change soon, there is no official recognition of this at present. Even if the factories are allowed to resume operations soon, market players reckon that new enquiries cannot be processed before March at the earliest.
