Corn: market waits for low-cost offers from Brazil

PARIS. The corn market declined slightly in Chicago and Paris. In the USA, the stock exchanges remained closed due to President's Day. The question remained whether China will stick to its import commitments in the Phase 1 deal or whether it would rather play for time. China bought larger quantities of corn in the Ukraine.

US corn was quoted just under USD 3.78 per bushel in Chicago, which is 1.00 cent lower than yesterday. In Paris, corn fell by 50 cents to EUR 168.25 per metric tonne. In the USA, the stock exchanges remained closed due President's Day. Trading remained quiet before the long weekend in the USA. The bearish factors, high corn crops in South America, and the difficulty in calculating the development of demand in China in view of the corona virus epidemic, leave their traces on the market.
