Flaxseed: trading slow to revive

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. Flaxseed prices are up in Eastern Europe and in Canada. China intends to resume shipments from Kazakhstan next week.

Train services to resume on 11 January

Trading is still largely subdued in Kazakhstan. Sharp rises in Covid-19 infection rates at the Chinese border throughout November and December have disrupted trading activities as China has suspended shipments from Kazakhstan. Market players are relieved that shipment will be resumed on 11 January, albeit only by train. Traders speculate that China has sufficient supplies and rather used the virus as a pretext to halt further arrivals.
