Cashews: prices continue to rise

HANOI. The prospect of a smaller crop in Vietnam and the horrendous freight costs are causing export prices for cashew kernels to increase further. Overall, however, exports are going well.

May exports rise by nearly 29% year-on-year

As recent data from the Import-Export Department of Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade shows, Vietnam's cashew exports reached 55,000 mt worth USD 339 million in May. This represents a volume increase of 13.4% and a value increase of just over 18% compared to April; compared to May 2020, there was even a volume growth of 28.6% and a value increase of 29%.
