Almonds: notable shift in prices in Spain

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. US almond shipments reached a new monthly record in January. This also has an impact on prices. Market players expect demand to remain good.

Positive outlook

The weather is mainly dry in California, thereby providing ideal conditions for pollination, which has now started. Blue Diamond Almonds estimates this year's US production at around 1.25 million metric tonnes. More accurate estimates will, however, only be possible in a few weeks' time.
