Almonds: prices bow to pressure

MADRID/SACRAMENTO. The upward trend of the almond market was only short-lived. Both on the Spanish trade markets and on the export market, prices are declining again.

Valencias again below EUR 4.00/kg

Spanish almonds are again available at a much lower price compared to last week and natural Valencias, 12/14 mm, vary between EUR 3.90-4.10/kg FCA Spain depending on the supplier. The prices for US almonds and their preparations have also been corrected downwards. The 2020 US crop has not even reached the European spot market, but the strong US exports in August are filling the warehouses.
