MALATYA. Over the next few weeks, the Turkish market is expected to quieten down a bit, with focus on the Ramadan and early presidential elections slated for 24 June 2018.

The regional hailstorms two weeks ago have barely affected the apricots, which means that nothing stands in the way of a good crop. Current estimates predict a production of 150,000 mt in 2018/2019. Warm and dry weather over the coming weeks would create the ideal conditions for fleshy and firm apricots, with relatively minor shrinkage during the drying process.
