OLOMOUC/BRUSSELS. With the harvest just around the corner for poppy seeds all eyes are set on the weather in the Czech Republic. EU imports have witnessed a sharp decline.

Eyes set on the weather

Expecation is that farmers will start harvesting winter poppy seeds in the next three to four weeks. Initial estimates project an average crop. Weather conditons will play a crucial role in the coming weeks. At this point no weather events are anticipated that may impact the crop positively or negatively.
