Blue poppy seeds: sowing similar to last year

OLOMOUC. Czech poppy growers are expected to sow a similar acreage as last year. Winter poppy seeds are hanging in the balance. Hungarian exports to third countries have risen by 10%.

Concerns over winter poppies persist

According to market players, conditions in the Czech poppy-growing regions have remained rather dry in recent weeks. Rainfall was recorded again a few days ago. However, the rain showers, which were only localised, were not sufficient to provide the fields with an even supply of moisture. In some areas, there was no rain at all.
