Blue poppy seeds: Traders offer at dumping prices

CHRUDIM. The slump in prices is a clear indication for buyers that the pressure is on in the Czech Republic. They are now waiting for further price drops.

 

Serious price cuts

Over the last few weeks there was very little movement in the market. Now the situation has changed drastically. With demand tending towards zero and acreage set to rise to 30,000-40,000 ha traders now find themselves forced to drastically go down in price. Prices have dropped below the EUR 2 mark with blue poopy seeds trading for as little as 1.98 FCA Czech Republic. Only six weeks since they were trading for as much as 2.35 EUR/kg FCA.
