NEW DELHI/HO CHI MINH. Mozambique’s reference price for raw cashew nuts stands 7% higher than last year. Demand is starting to shift in Vietnam. Expectation is that last-minute orders will save the day in India.

Higher reference price in Mozambique

On 7 October 2026, the government in Mozambique announced that the 2026/2027 reference price for raw cashew nuts has been set at MZN 48/kg (USD 0.75/kg) as the Club of Mozambique reports. This is 7% up on last year’s MZN 45/kg (USD 0.70/kg). To encourage local factories to process more nuts within the country, the export tax on raw cashews has also been lifted to 22%, while the tax stood at 18% in 2025/2026. Additionally, the weather in the main cashew-growing provinces of Nampula and Zambézia will be warmer
