Differing forecasts

Opinions are mixed about this year’s cashew crop. While some European traders highlight that global raw cashew nut production may rise by around 10% this year, market giant Olam states that the “crop supply looks poorer than last year” in the current “Global Nuts Market and Crop Update”. Issue is that heavy rains have impacted quality in Ghana and that outturns do not look good in other West African countries such as Côte d’Ivoire and Nigeria.
