Cashews: RCN season is drawing to a close

NEW DELHI/HANOI. At cashew origins in Africa, the season for raw cashew nuts (RCN) is largely over. Vietnam increased its RCN imports by 15% in the first five months of this year. EU countries imported 8.5% more cashew kernels in the first half of 2026.

Only residual stocks in African origins

In African origins such as Guinea-Bissau, Burkina Faso, Togo and Côte d'Ivoire, the cashew season is largely over. In Guinea-Bissau, commodity prices have risen recently, though buyers are tending to be cautious at this higher level. In Burkina Faso, by contrast, processors and traders are readily buying up the remaining stocks, whilst in Côte d’Ivoire the Cotton and Cashew Council (CCAK) is purchasing the growers’ remaining stocks.
