Worries about depreciation in India

Reduced purchases from the food industry prompted by cooking gas shortages have hit demand in India in the last two weeks. Buyers are currently operating on a hand-to-mouth basis, avoiding bulk stocking due to ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. Imported RCN (raw cashew nut) offers range above USD 1,500/mt even for 47lbs and higher as the quality moves higher. The Indian rupee has depreciated swiftly in the last few weeks.
