NEW DELHI. For chickpeas prices are trending in different directions in India.

Turnaround in local market

Kabuli chana production is down this season. While excess old stocks and cold-storage supplies had pulled the market down considerably, this is now turning around. Big Indore exporters have moved back into the market with renewed strength. Supplies currently selling at USD 0.71-0.75/kg will not go down in price. In fact, the market may climb by another USD 0.10/kg from current levels.
