NEW DELHI/OTTAWA. While domestic demand for chickpeas in India could be better, buying interest in overseas markets remains high. In Canada, attention is currently focused on the quality of this year's crop.

Calm market and slight price declines

Subdued demand from retailers and end consumers is causing traders to remain cautious in their purchases for the time being, putting pressure on chickpea prices in India, which have fallen by USD 20/mt compared to last week.
