FRANKFURT/BRUSSELS. Global production is set to rise by 7.6% in 2019/20. While imports to Germany remained firm last year, the total imports to the EU climbed by 11.6%.

1.21 million mt expected

With estimates ranging 1.21 million mt, global production is expected to rise by 7.6% 2019/20. As the figures presented at the INC World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress show, Saudi Arabia is expecting a nominal increase in production of 2.2% to 235,000 mt. In Iran production is to remain similar in size to 2018/19. Yields are in facts expected to rise in most of the producing countries.
