Dates: EU increases imports drastically

TEHRAN/BRUSSELS. The import volumes to the EU have risen drastically over the last five years. Although Iran may only rank third in the list of supplying countries, exporters in Iran nevertheless intend to target this market indirectly.

Exports to the EU via Pakistan and Turkey

Imports to the EU have in fact continuously increased over the last five years as imports to the EU still ranged at 88,408 metric tonnes worth EUR 176 million in 2014, whereas a drastic increase to a volume of 132,568 metric tonnes worth nearly EUR 289 million was seen last year. Tunisia is the most important supplier by far with Algeria ranking second.
