Dates: record yields in Khuzestan

TEHRAN. Date production in the Iranian province of Khuzestan experienced a significant increase in yield this year. The acreage is to be significantly increased within the next five years.

Date cultivation in Khuzestan to be expanded

This year's date production in Khuzestan increased by a whopping 35% to 230,000 mt, which sets a new record. Currently, around 41,000 hectares of date palms are cultivated in Khuzestan. By 2025, the acreage is to be increased to 56,000 ha, raising production potential to 310,000 mt. Currently, about 18% of the Iranian date crop comes from the province in the Midwest of the country.
