Desiccated coconuts remain stable
The coconut market has gained strength this week. International quotations for desiccated coconuts continue to range between USD 1.09 and 1.90/lb FOB, as reported by the experts at T.M. Duché. The average price fell slightly and, whilst still above the August average, is significantly below the level seen in September 2025. In the Philippines, however, prices have firmed. Both the average prices for husked coconuts and the raw material prices in Southern Tagalog and Southern Mindanao have risen. As a result, export prices for desiccated coconuts remain largely stable, whilst rising costs for coconuts and processing are limiting the scope for further price reductions.
Coconut oil and copra on the rise
The coconut oil market also recovered, with physical trades taking place for the first time in 13 weeks. Buying interest focused on shipments in 2027, whilst interest in remaining positions for 2026 was limited. Coconut oil also traded above the price of palm kernel oil once again. On the Philippine domestic market, prices rose for both crude coconut oil and refined, bleached and deodorised (RBD) coconut oil, according to T.M. Duché.
Copra prices in the Philippines also continued their recovery. Average seller and buyer prices in Quezon rose, whilst quotations in Bicol, the Visayas and Mindanao were also higher. According to the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), average producer prices recovered last month but remain below last year’s levels.
