MALATYA. In some valley regions of Malatya, apricot trees have begun to form buds, and market players are optimistic so far; however, concerns about late frosts remain. Special training courses are to support growers.

Favourable weather conditions

Sunny weather is expected in the Turkish apricot region of Malatya for the coming week. According to forecasts by the Turkish Meteorological Institute, night-time temperatures will range between −3 and 1°C, while daytime temperatures are expected to reach around 10 to 15°C. Market players report that budding has already begun on apricot trees in some valley regions. This phase precedes flowering and is considered an important indicator of the condition of the trees and the yield potential for the coming season.
