Dried apricots: harvest begins amid summery temperatures

MALATYA. The first fresh apricots are now being harvested in Malatya and shipped mainly to Europe. The weather is currently favourable, and market players are optimistic.

Positive outlook

The 2026 apricot harvest has begun in Malatya. The Kale region is leading the way, followed by Darende and other growing areas. Depending on the ripeness of the fruit, the harvest takes around one and a half to two months. Night-time temperatures of 17 to 22°C and daytime highs of 34 to 38°C are expected this week.
