Dried apricots: harvest largely complete

MALATYA. The apricot harvest is almost complete, but demand remains weak due to seasonal factors. Prices have not yet stabilised and vary significantly depending on the supplier. At the same time, increasing competition from Uzbekistan is putting pressure on Turkish exports.

First exports have begun

In Malatya, the apricot harvest is almost complete. Only small quantities are still being harvested at higher altitudes. The rainfall forecast for this week is therefore unlikely to have any significant impact on the apricots already laid out to dry. Temperatures are expected to range between 16 and 19°C at night and between 26 and 35°C during the day. The first exporters have begun to ship small quantities.
