MALATAYA. Growers in Malatya describe the current weather conditions as ideal for apricot development, and the flowering phase could begin soon. However, after last year's disaster, they are concerned about possible frost damage in April. Despite everything, exporters remain optimistic.

Favourable weather

Rain is expected again in Malatya this week. According to the Turkish weather service, temperatures are expected to range between 0 and 4°C at night and between 11 and 15°C during the day. Market players report that the continuing cool weather and rainfall are having a positive effect. The rain is coming at the right time, the reservoirs are filling up, and the current conditions are considered ideal. Cold nights and mild days are considered favourable; if this weather continues, the flowering season could begin around the Ramadan festival
