MALATYA. Prices on the dried apricot market have exploded following the frost damage in Turkey – if there are any offers at all. The damage assessment is still ongoing.

Price increases of up to 300%

Prices for raw materials on the Turkish dried apricot market have now reached dizzying heights following the frost disaster in April, which destroyed a large part of the crop. Jumbo varieties are currently trading at TRY 480/kg, while no 2 dried apricots are trading at TRY 350/kg, an increase of almost 300% compared to prices before the night frosts. Natural apricots, which are almost no longer available, cost up to TRY 700/kg, while organic apricots cost TRY 850/kg. It is hardly surprising that buyers are holding back at such high pric
