Dried apricots: first official crop estimates

MALATYA. Crop estimates in Turkey’s apricot-growing regions have been finalised and an official crop estimate for the 2026 crop has been announced. In addition, fresh apricots have been exported to Canada for the first time.

Harvest is progressing

In Turkey’s apricot-growing regions, night-time temperatures of 16 to 19°C and daytime highs of 32 to 35°C are expected this week. The only concern for growers and exporters is the possibility of rainfall during the harvesting and drying phases.

The apricot harvest in the valleys is progressing daily. According to local market players, it is still too early for price quotes on the new crop; they expect the first prices to be offered at the end of July at the earliest. A total crop of around 80,000 mt of dried apricots has
