Dried apricots: Prices surge

MALATYA. The prices for the different sizes are drifting further apart. It is well nigh impossible to obtain large sizes.

 

Prices as high as two years ago

This week, the export prices for dried apricots no 2 from Turkey have once again risen by ca. 100 USD/mt. Depending on the supplier, the offers vary between 4,250 USD/mt and 4,500 USD/mt FOB Mersin. They have now reached a similar level as in March 2016. Contrary to this, the prices for smaller dried apricots have remained stable or declined. Dried apricots no 6 are currently trading on a level of 3,000-3,400 USD/mt FOB.
