MALATYA. The export season for dried apricots will officially start on Thursday. Some farmers are, however, already selling small volumes in order to pay their labourers.

Exports have risen in 2018/2019

August markts the beginning of the new export season in Turkey. Although the market witnessed a decline in dried apricot production in 2018, the devaluation of the lira and large carry-over stocks caused sales to rise. The total export volume for 2018/2019 season will range at 99,000 metric tonnes, which is an increase of more than 4% over last season.
