Dried apricots: Weekly exports fall below 500 mt

MALATYA. The official production estimates for the 2018 dried apricot production in Turkey are more than 30,000 mt below traders' expectations. In addition, the prices for prompt deliveries are stable.

 

Large fruits are still cheaper

Turkish apricot farmers should be able to start drying their fruits in the next few weeks. Despite early flowering, market players are worried that, due to adverse weather conditions, the sugar content of the fruit has not yet reached the desired level.

Traders have again lowered their prices for large dried apricots this week, thus reducing the difference in price between them and the smaller varieties. At the same time, it is currently the small dried apricots that are still primarily on offer.
