Dried figs: climate change presents challenge

AYDIN. In Aydin, the industry is presently working on improving its export performance for dried figs and industry leaders have identified quality, marketing and climate change as key problems in a recent workshop.

Aydin accounts for 79% of exports

According to the Chamber of Commerce the province of Aydin accounts 97% of Turkey’s national dried fig production and for 79% of the country’s exports in the current season. Of the 68,138 mt of dried figs produced in Turkey in 2024/2025, Aydin supplied a stunning 52,483 mt. Average sales prices for dried figs traded at the Aydin Chamber of Commerce stand at TRY 163/kg.
