Dried figs: fight against aflatoxin issues continues

AYDIN. After the EU rejected some dried fig shipments due to high aflatoxin levels, associations and ministries are doing everything they can to combat this problem. Exports are still at the same level as last season.

Stable exports

Turkish dried fig exports are currently almost at the same level as last season. Last week, 1,079 mt of dried figs and fig products were shipped overseas, compared to 1,084 mt in the same week last year. Since the start of the season, total exports have therefore totalled 27,159 mt, compared to 27,652 mt in the same period last year.
