Last week, this year’s congress of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council took place in Macao. The estimates for global dried fig production in 2026/27 were rather sobering. In total, just 145,700 mt of dried figs are expected to be produced in the coming season, which would be around 7% less than last year’s figure of 156,400 mt. For Turkey, the main producer, a moderate yield of 70,000 mt is currently expected, which is in line with last year’s figure and would even be 10,000 mt above the 2024/25 production of 60,0
