Dried figs: Price development takes market by surprise

AYDIN/TEHRAN. In Turkey, the export season is expected to start at the end of September. Meanwhile, the current price development in Iran has taken the market by surprise.

High prices expected in Turkey

The Aegean Exporters Union will announce the start of the export season for dried figs on Monday. Market players are confident that it will start at the end of September. Currently, the first figs are being dried. As no rain has been forecasted until the end of September, drying should be completed quickly and the fruits will be ready for export quickly as well. The quality is said to be good and official production estimates are to be issued within the next few days.
