AYDIN. Turkish fig farmers welcome the rainfall in the growing regions. Authorities are developing measures to improve the quality and controls of dried fig production.

Rainfall in Aydin

In the coming days, temperatures in the Turkish province of Aydin are expected to rise to 14-19°C. The milder temperatures will be accompanied by heavy rainfall, which will benefit the plants in the region.

Apart from that, the Turkish dried fig market currently has little new to offer, and not even the upcoming Ramadan has been able to significantly increase export demand. As in the previous week, export prices for dried figs, Lerida, no 2 are quoted at USD 11,963/mt FOB Izmir.
