AYDIN. Market players in Turkey reprot that the TMO officially intends to interfere in the market. The organisation is expected to start purchasing dried figs next week.

Base price of TRY 15-20 per kg expected

The TMO is expected to act as a buyer to prevent prices from slipping. However, it is not yet known as to how much the TMO intends to pruchas and at which price. Traders reckon that the base price will range at TRY 15-20 per kg. An official starting date has also not been announced yet. Market players, however, expect purchasing to start as early as next week.
