Dried figs: USA is the main buyer

AYDIN. The USA is the most important importer of Turkish dried figs this season. The export value has increased by 48%. The frost-hit parts of the Turkish dried fruit sector are to be supported.

Gloomy export forecast in the dried fruit sector

The chairman of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, Mehmet Ali Işık, describes Turkey as the world's largest dried fruit chamber and despite frequent setbacks in recent years, Turkey remains the top producer of sultanas, dried apricots and figs.

Since the beginning of the season, 50,295 mt of dried figs and dried fig products have been exported from Turkey, which is only 900 mt less than in the same period last year, and weekly exports were even higher than last year at 1,429 mt. The
