Dried figs: wide price gaps

AYDIN/ESTAHBAN. While exporters in Turkey are busy shipping as many dried figs as possible before Christmas and New Year, suppliers in Iran are assessing the damage caused by storms and floods.

Pre-Christmas sales keep exporters on their toes

Exporters are extremely busy in Turkey in making sure that their customers receive their shipments in time for Christmas and New Year. Shipments are going well and the recent price declines may give demand another boost.

Low quality dried figs are currently trading at TRY 40-45/kg and higher qualities at TRY 55-56/kg. Quotations range at TRY 42-48/kg in Aydin. Export prices differ considerably depending on quality and on supplier. The prices for no 2 Lerida dried figs range at USD 5,430-5,810/mt FOB Izmir and
