Flaxseed: astronomical prices

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. Traders in Kazakhstan are reporting a nominal shift in raw seed prices. At the border to China prices range astronomically high. Unexpected developments have, in addition, prompted production estimates to be revised in Canada.

Higher prices in Kazakhstan 

Market players in Kazakhstan report nominal increases. High demand and exchange rate fluctuations have pushed up the prices for brown flaxseed with a 97% purity to a level of EUR 355-360 per metric tonne FCA in Northern Kazakhstan. At the border to China prices even range as high as EUR 420 per metric tonne.
