OTTAWA/ASTANA. Market experts are sceptical about Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's low cultivation forecast. In the Kazakh flaxseed market, prices are maintaining the higher levels of recent weeks.

Less flaxseed in Kazakhstan

While Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada has reduced its cultivation forecast for the 2025/2026 Canadian flaxseed crop, market players remain sceptical. Although Kazakhstan was able to compensate for some of the supplies to the EU that would otherwise have been imported from Russia, the current situation offers good opportunities for Canadian exporters.
