OTTAWA/ASTANA. Canada’s flaxseed exports rose by 25% in the first half of 2026. Market players are awaiting the new crop. Sufficient supply on the international market is increasing competitive pressure.

Exports up 25% in the first half of 2026

In the first half of 2026, the value of Canadian flaxseed exports rose by 25%. Between January and June, flaxseed worth USD 114.652 million was shipped from Canada to overseas markets. At USD 39.853 million (+7.5% year-on-year), the US accounted for 34.8% of the export value, whilst shipments to Belgium made up 26.8% or USD 30.72 million (+1% year-on-year). These were followed by China (+214.8% to USD 27.64), France (+30.8% to USD 2,230) and Peru (+100% to USD 2,011).
