Flaxseed: exports on the rise

NUR-SULTAN/OTTAWA. Market analyst Oil World has recently reported that rise in global exports is to be expected for flaxseed.

Strong exports in the first half of the season

Oil World estimates worldwide global flaxseed exports at around 1.53 million metric tonnes in 2019/2020. This is an increase of 4% over last year. More than half of the shipments will to take place between January and July. A notable rise in exports has, in addition, been recorded in August-December 2019 (+8.8% to 731,000 mt). Market players also report that year-on-year shipments from Kazakhstan to Russia have increased tenfold since the start of the season.
