ASTANA/LODZ. Rain and snow are causing harvest delays in Eastern Europe and Canada. Concerns over quality are driving prices up.

 

Uncertainty is growing

The time of low prices is over for the time being. Suppliers in Poland have raised their prices above 500 EUR/mt DDP Germany. Prices last reached this level in mid-2017 - and before that in mid-2016 (see price chart).

The wet and cold weather in Eastern Europe is giving rise to concerns over crop losses and an impact on quality. Contrary to this, production prospects were initially rather promising.
