Flaxseed: Kazakhstan wants to expand oilseed cultivation

ASTANA/OTTAWA. According to the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture, larger areas are to be sown with oilseeds this year. Prices are stable for the time being.

1 million ha of flaxseed in Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan intends to pursue its plans to expand the cultivation of oilseeds this year, according to Kazakh Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov. A total of around 3.3 million hectares are to be sown with oilseeds for the 2025/26 season, which would be 365,000 hectares more than in the previous year. Around 1 million hectares are planned for the cultivation of flaxseed this year.
