Flaxseed: Kazakhstan exports more than 600,000 mt

ASTANA/OTTAWA. Kazakhstan's flaxseed exports increased by 30% compared to last year. A high moisture content poses challenges for traders this year and the crop also has some visual shortcomings.

In the Canadian flaxseed market, prices have stabilised for the time being. The moderate demand situation is preventing the oilseed from trading more expensively. China continues to be an important market for Canadian flaxseed exporters, but here too buyers are currently holding back. At around 270,000 mt, the Canadian flaxseed crop was more than one-third smaller than last year.
