Flaxseed: Kazakhstan records massive increase in exports

ASTANA/MOSCOW. Kazakhstan's flaxseed shipments to the EU and China reached new record levels in the first three months of the season. While crops have been bountiful overall, the supply of golden flaxseed is already becoming scarce.

Kazakhstan increases exports by 211%

According to data from the Kazakh Statistical Service, Kazakhstan exported a total of 340,700 mt of flaxseed in the first three months of the 2025/2026 season (September-November), representing a 270% increase over the previous year. Among other things, shipments to China increased by 250% to 108,600 mt, but EU countries such as Belgium, Estonia, Poland and Germany also increased their imports significantly.
