Flaxseed: Kazakhstan registers record exports

... his forecasts for Kazakhstan's flaxseed production 2020/2021 last month at the conference of the Kazakh Grain Union. Karabanov estimates that this year 1.225 million hectares were sown with flaxseed and estimates the production potential at 883,000 mt. The official cultivation figures of the Kazakh statistical service, however, state an acreage of more than 1.5 million ha. However, only 1.215 million ha of these are expected to be harvested this season, and the yield of 0.7 mt/ha is also estimated to be around 11% lower than last year.
